For females, the menstruation is a period that relates her to feminism. For some of them, it may be a tough time while for some it is just a period of three days with a difference. Sometimes you can experience abnormal bleeding which happens either before or after your menstruation date. This is called inter-menstrual bleeding or spotting. Spotting can be caused due to a number of reasons. Sometimes it is serious, and sometimes it can just be a sign of incomplete periods or hormonal imbalance. If this happens regularly, then you must consult a gynecologist. But before that what can be the reasons for untimely spotting? Here are some of the factors responsible for the spotting.

Ovulation: Spotting or slight bleeding after one or two weeks of your periods can be due to ovulation. Generally, a woman’s menstrual cycle lasts up to twenty-eight days, and ovulation occurs after 10-14 days after the start of the menstrual period. This is because there is hormonal change during ovulation and this can cause spotting. Also, you can experience spotting if you have irregular and incomplete periods. Usually, the females who suffer from ovarian issues may also get spotting commonly.

Implantation: The spotting caused due to implantation is considered to be the first signs of pregnancy. Implantation is the process when the fertilized egg is attached to the uterus; it causes slight bleeding. Apart from slight bleeding, there can also be white or brown discharge, and you might experience pelvic cramps too. This is not unnatural, but in case of heavy bleeding, you must consult a doctor.

Birth Control pills: In case you have started consuming monthly birth control pills or have taken contraceptive pills, you can experience some sort of spotting. This is because these pills cause an imbalance of hormones thus leading to untimely bleeding which often does not last long. Hence one does not need to worry as over a period it will vanish.

Ovarian Cyst: Ovarian cysts are a growing problem which is normal for many women nowadays. Generally, women having poly-cystic ovary suffer from irregular periods or heavy bleeding during periods and also immense pain during the first couple of days. If you have cysts in your ovary then sometimes you can spot blood even after the ending of your normal periods. This can be due to incomplete period or a result of heavy exercise.

Uterine Fibroids: Fibroids are the unwanted growth of cells and tissues in the uterus and can cause problems like immense pain during periods, irregular bleeding and prolonged periods. In case you have fibroids then spotting can be a sign of irregular periods, and they can last for a long time. In that case, you must consult a doctor and get medical help.

These are some of the common reasons why spotting can happen after normal periods. You must keep in mind that in case of prolonged spotting or periods you must always consult a doctor to prevent something serious. You can also try some of the home remedies, but first, the diagnosis must be done thoroughly.
